Hi Mary – lovely story about yourself. I bet your childhood was wonderful. I have been in Great Smoky Mountains, it’s a magical place.
– Ruta
Yes, I had a wonderful childhood. Many good memories that fill my thoughts with a lifetime of adventure that keeps me writing. Thanks for commenting._Mary
Interesting projects you’re into. Thanks for finding my blog at siximages.me.
You’re welcome, Tim. You have some great images on your site.
thanks for stopping by and deciding to follow my blog. I was glad to see you enjoyed the railway museum as much as I did. My grandson loves trains and I am going to take him there when he gets a little older,
You’re welcome. Since your grandson loves trains, there’s a great DVD hosted by Levar Burton of Reading Rainbow called “Kate Shelley and the midnight express” I recommend. My grandson, who is now 7 years old, loved watching this (and learning about the train) when he was 4 years old; and it became one of my/our favorites. Our local library had a copy.
Good for you Mary, to be pursuing your passion and enjoying the outdoors… I think I will enjoy your blog. Best, Paula
Thanks, Paula. I’ve always believed everyone should follow their dreams and passion doing whatever makes them happy. Come back and visit any time. I think you will find a lot of things to read about on my site.
Hi Mary, Thank you for liking my blog and commenting on my posting on Van Gogh. It led me to your blog. I enjoy your mix of subject materials, especially the postings on books and writing. Keep up your creative endeavors and your support of others.
Thanks for commenting. I try to keep the postings varied on subjects and glad you like the ones on writing and books, my passion. And, I agree everyone should “realize their dreams”. Life is good and a blessing every day working towards the goals we set for ourselves.
Thank you for liking one of my blog entries. You have some wonderful photographs and great words on your site.
You’re welcome. Thanks for taking a look at my site. Do you have a link to your true story you mentioned that is published in Crystal Magazine? If so, I’d like to read it.
Thank you for visiting my blog. Your blogs are certainly inspiring!
You’re welcome and thanks. Keep writing.
I lost my job(s) in 2009 also. Oh well. I was getting tired of being stuck in traffic for hours on I-95 for hours on end anyway. I was a desktop publisher (15 years) in Northern VA, and I was in the Washington National Opera (13 years).I haven’t really found anywhere else to fit in. Haven’t figured out how to publish a book, but I would love to do something like that! I’ve been kind of floundering ….lost at sea.I have recently been a companion for people with dementia and Alzheimer’s. I’ve been told I’m very entertaining. 🙂 I’ve been wandering all my life, so I certainly understand feeling lost.Stone Mountain? I remember going there a long, long time ago. I think it is in Georgia? Beautiful area!
Thanks for visiting and commenting. The best way to publish is have your manuscript ready and edited, then find a trusted publisher. Take control of your destiny and then you will be successful. Yes, I have found the area around where I live is beautiful and I get out to explore it as much as I can every day. Check around some of my postings. I think you will find some that you like.
Thanks for checking out Visions and Revisions, Mary. Your book sounds great. I write mystery and middle-grade books.
You’re welcome and thanks for commenting. When I decided to publish, I envisioned my first book would be a trilogy. Hopefully I will finish it this year and that’s when the real adventure begins with other stories and manuscripts to finish. I like mystery – what is the link to one of your books?
I have sent you some awards to appreciate your very interesting blog and your support of mine. Hope you’ll accept. Please check out:
http://opallaontrails.wordpress.com/2013/07/18/a-few-more-awards-have-arrived/
I don’t participate in any of the WordPress Awards. Thank you, anyway for the nomination. I’m honored for your selection.
Thank you for visiting my blog. I look forward to reading more of yours!
You’re welcome and thanks for visiting. I try to keep my postings brief and hope you find some of them interesting enough to stop and read. One day perhaps I’ll find enough information about my ancestors to write about them.
Mary, thanks for liking both my ‘about page’ and ‘Quarry Flora’, it really is appreciated so thank you. Reading your own about it would seem that there are similarities, albeit I have yet to strike out and determine my own path. The theme of your book looks interesting, will have to check out more of your site. Oh, given your name are you of Irish descent? MM
Glad you stopped by to read some of my postings. It must be the luck of the Irish as the last name definitely came from Ireland. Gil, means son of, thus the great-grandfather’s name must have been Martin.
Thanks so much for visiting and liking my posts! I appreciate it very much. I’ve enjoyed my visit here and look forward to following your posts.
You’re welcome, Jackie. Glad you stopped by for a visit. Life is good and every day exciting.

Thank you for stopping by my blog. Much appreciated.:)
I found you site interesting as it centers around a preventive healthy lifestyle and being active. I think one of the best things a person can do for their bodies is to keep moving and walking.
Thank you for stopping by Storyteller. — Ray
You’re welcome. I try to stop by whenever I get a spare moment…
Very glad to have found your blog, Mary. Thank you for stopping by mine.

Same, here. Glad I stumbled across your site. You’re doing a good job documenting history with photographs from your father’s albums.
Thanks and drop by my site anytime, too.
Thank you for stoping by Storyteller. My online blogging friend Vera suggested that I follow you after showing me your postcard post about The French Quarter. — Ray
You’re welcome and like your photography. Haven’t been to New Orleans in a long time, but remember all the wonderful architecture. Thank you for visiting.
My pleasure. Luckily, or maybe unluckily, I live in New Orleans.
Hi there. Thanks for stopping by my blog and also for the like. Appreciate it and I look forward to checking out more of your blog. I love writing. Always have and wished I had more time to focus on it. Maybe after Jim’s transplant I can pursue it. Thanks again. Hope you’re well!! Cheryl

I completely understand and respect your decision 🙂
All the best for you and your blog!
Thank you for your generous like of “The Walk” on my amateur art blog! I’m only beginning to browse your blog, but I can tell already that I’ll be spending a lot of time reading here 🙂 Thank you! ~Scott
You’re welcome and keep painting. Thanks for dropping by my site. I hope you enjoy reading my postings.
Thank you for following me to my new site, and for the likes. I don’t always click like and comment as often as I should, but I know it fills up email inboxes and takes time to respond, but I am an avid reader and love your blog, lots of golden nuggets to be inspired by, thank you
I took your advice, thank you.
It is a longish piece so I did a bit of editing and applied a few things I have learned since being on this site and hopefully it will hold the reader’s interest. I’m glad you liked the ‘Three Brothers’ piece, I really enjoyed writing it. I’ll do a bit of work to it and reblog it in a couple of days. Thank you for the encouragement and the suggestions. You are a legend.
Terry
You’re welcome.
Thank you for the likes, it’s very encouraging.
Terry
Your writing on your site is interesting. You mentioned you had written a book about your home schooling, but I don’t seem to find a link to where it can be purchased.
Hi Mary, a trip to schoome.net will get you to details about the book but basically there are two options for paper and a PDF version as well. Hit the ‘message me’ button and I can sort out any details for you. P.S. I noticed that you read my story ‘The Rat’. People hardly ever go that far back into my posts, well done on your hunting skills. I think it is a shame that this story does not get many views, but I would think that, wouldn’t I?
I visited your link and browsed throughout your site reading and found your “A Tale of 3 Brothers”, a very good story. Your books look like a great read for those educating their children (mine are already grown, by the way).PS: However, I have a suggestion for you about your story ‘The Rat’. Write a short preview about it and then reblog it again on that page… I bet you will get some reads.
Thanks for liking my post on Chasing Wave and I really appreciate your poetic comment! I am starting to learn how to write and in my second language too. I have so much to learn from you, and I’ll follow your Blog. Hope you’ll follow mine too and give your comments. 🙂
You’re welcome and I, as well, have so much to learn from your postings. And, you’re doing a great job in your second language. Keep writing. What is your first language?
Chinese 🙂

Thanks very much for visiting my blog. I also do some creative writing, but it’s sort of on pause at the moment for some reason. We are also considering relocating to Atlanta (from Jamaica)… Stone Mountain sounds rather beautiful, though. Please visit me again! Thanks.

Hello and thanks for the “like” on thesaltwatertwin. It’s always a treat to connect with other writers!
You’re welcome and your mention of reading “Dick and Jane” books reminds me of how great they were and the book “Happy Days with our friends” is all about Dick and Jane too and still a good primer for a 6 year old. Keep writing…
Mary, thanks for stopping by my blog. Much appreciated!
You’re welcome and good luck on your submission. In your posting it’s interesting what Terry Deary, the British author said about the library system. I love the the library and hope they stay around for a long, long time. It’s the first place I go to read a book by a new author and if I like it, I buy it for my own home library. Nothing better than feeling the paper between your fingers as you read and turn the pages, so “hurrah for libraries” and boo to Terry Deary.
Good luck in your writing as well. I’m with you, long live the library!
Hi, thanks for visiting and leaving a comment on my Friday’s Fences post. My childhood home was across the highway from a dairy barn, so I guess I have a “soft spot” for cows. I saw that you live near Stone Mountain; we visited there back in the early 1970’s!
You’re welcome and come back to visit again sometime. Look around my pages, you might see something you like.
Thanks for the card and greeting. I hope you had a great day.

Mary, congratulations for following your passion to write full time. It’s nice to make these changes as yet “another career” isn’t it? We may not be the X generation or whatever letter they are using now, but we can still make changes, too. Thank you for stopping by Bellissima.
Thanks, Kathie. Now, let’s get to work and accomplish those goals we have set for ourselves. I’m rather ambitious and realized getting the first three will take me another year: 1) finish books 2 and 3 of the Adventures with Easton 2) a young children’s illustrated book and 3) a book of short stories.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I appreciate, I’m following yours now,
