“The Bag Lady of Boston” by Mary Gilmartin
The Bag Lady of Boston walks the streets during the day and at night she hopes to find a warm place to sleep.
Where she is going nobody knows.
Most days the temperatures in January is freezing, but her body does not feel the cold.
Underneath her donated coat she wears layer after layer of clothing.
The streets are her friends.
Here is where she lives and here is where she says she will die.
After all it’s been her home since she was eleven.
