Macy’s Pink Pig 2012, Atlanta, Georgia

All aboard!! Saturday Travels with Dakota:  Next stop, Macy’s Lenox Square’s parking deck to kick off the holiday season to take a trip down memory lane traveling on “Priscilla the Pink Pig” experiencing one of Atlanta’s most talked-about traditions.

Priscilla the Pink Pig a holiday ride that first debuted in 1953 at the Rich’s downtown store came back in 2003 to celebrate her 50th anniversary, this time at the flagship Lenox Square location,  The original ride was a monorail that circled the toy department and later moved to the roof adjacent to the Macy’s Great Tree another Atlanta Holiday tradition.

The all new Priscilla carries on the family tradition beneath a 170 foot, 1950’s – themed Pink Pig Tent at the Lenox Square upper – level parking deck.  Traveling along train tracks, Priscilla takes children and parents through a life-sized storybook that includes the original Pink Pig, Greendog and many other friends of hers.

A portion of the proceeds from the ride benefits Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.”
